About the job

Is it your passion to compose recipes in the animal nutrition sector? Do you speak Dutch as a second or third language and have you completed your Animal Sciences? Are you interested in balancing quality and costs? Then read on because we might just have very interesting position for you available at one of the largets players in the International animal feed market.

You will become part of a team of four nutrionists, Together you provide the customers with the desired recipes. Besides this you will work on the process of matching nutrient requirements of different husbandry animal classes with the nutrient contents of the available ingredients in an economic matter.

During the training period you wil focus on swine nutrition, but there is ofcourse room to explore. After some time you can broadening your horizon in for example poultry and cattle. In this position you will play a coordinating role between different parties to build bridges and share your knowledge on Animal Nutrition with internal and external stageholders.

From the customer service outcomes you get data about the degree of satisfaction of customers which you will need to analyse and implement. After all, that's what a commercial organization is all about.

Numbers, numbers and more numbers. You interpret and analyze these numbers and convert them to an understandible summary of what needs to be done. Preparing the right recipes requires precision therefor it would be best if you know how to use a linear programming system such as Bestmix.

Test new recipes? You use the inhouse sample laboratory and production facility/tools for this. You work at the office, in the heart of Rotterdam. Here you will have a lot of contact with your direct colleagues and colleagues from other departments. Communication is key? Meaning that communication lines are kept short and you will get the information you need from different directions to do your work efficiently. You will have a lot of room to work and carry out your tasks independently.

Job requirements

  • You have obtained your master's degree in Animal Sciences or a similar study.
  • Preferably you have gained some experience within the animal nutrition industry.
  • You have an excellent command of the Dutch and English language.
  • You are prepared to further develop into a real specialist in nutrition.
  • You like to invest in the relationship with your direct colleagues. The nutrition team is close and open.
  • You are available as soon as possible for this beautiful job.
  • You get used easily to new software systems or have worked with linear software before such as Bestmix.

What we offer

So what can we do for you?

  • You will receive a gross monthly salary, depending on your experience, between € 3000 and € 4000 based on a fulltime work week.
  • We mediate this vacancy on the basis of recruitment & selection. You immediately get a contract with the company itself.
  • Initially, our client offers you a temporary contract for 1 year. The intention is to convert this into an indefinite contract.

Yes, we are a member of ABU: the branch organization of the temporary employment sector. This organization guarantees that its members act according to the Dutch law.

Unfortunately, Start People does not offer housing. If you wish to work for Start People, you need to arrange housing in the Netherlands or in the Dutch border area.

If you have the intention to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register in the personal records database of the city you live in. To do this, go to the town hall of the city where you are going to live. You will then receive a citizen service number (BSN). With this number, your employer can register you, for example, at the Tax Authorities/ Doctors, hospitals and pharmacies can also ask you for your BSN. If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for less than four months, registration in to the personal record database is not obligated. If you still want a citizen service number, you must register in the personal record database of the city you live in. 

We can help you make an appointment to get your BSN number, but you must go to the appointment yourself. 
You need a valid ID, BSN number on an original document from either the Tax Authorities or City (Hall) you are registered in, and a European bank account number (IBAN) in your name.
