We are hiring new employees for Geodis in Almere for their rapidly growing location. As an order picker it is important that you have work experience in the warehouse with a hand scanner and EPT driving experience. Own transport is also important because the location is difficult to reach by public transport!

As a full-time order picker, you are responsible for collecting various orders. On your own EPT you drive through the warehouse and you collect the ordered items and transfer them to the packing department. During your shift - morning and evening shifts - you take responsibility for the correct handling of your orders. KPI guidelines are no problem for you and you know how to show the best of yourself every day.

As a full-time order picker you get the opportunity to get to know the company better, overcome challenges. And get acquainted with the peak moments within this organization. Job requirements

Are you currently working as an order picker, warehouse employee, logistics employee or as a packer within a logistics company, but are you looking for a stable job with future prospects? Two shifts - morning & evening - are no problem for you. Normal working days are from Monday to Friday, but in case of persistent crowds, you can also choose to work on weekends. You will be informed about this in good time by your manager.

You can express your ambitions well within this organization. Because they grow quickly, there are plenty of growth opportunities that you can tackle!

In addition, it is important that you have the following job requirements;

  • Full time available (40 hours a week)
  • Own transport (because of accessibility to work location)
  • Work experience with EPT and hand scanner

Geodis Almere is a fast-growing logistics organization with international objectives. Geodis in Almere specializes in retail and e-commerce and supplies various goods to shops and consumers for various organizations.

Geodis Almere is located on the Stichtsekant industrial estate and is currently difficult to reach by public transport in the evenings. It is therefore important that you have your own transport, because otherwise you will not be able to come home after your evening shift.

What we offer

We offer you the opportunity to earn a permanent job and permanent work for a longer period of time within one employer. In the long run, you can get yourself a contract for an indefinite period.
At the start of your employment, we issue a phase A contract for an indefinite period of time. In most cases, you will be taken over by our client within 78 working weeks and you will be employed by Geodis.

If there is a need from Geodis to further train you to become a forklift driver or reach truck driver, for example, we will support you in obtaining your certificate so that you can continue to grow.

Yes, we are a member of ABU: the branch organization of the temporary employment sector. This organization guarantees that its members act according to the Dutch law.

Some companies we work with only offer day shifts, but the most companies offer several shifts (morning-, day and night shifts). It is often not possible to work structurally in one specific shift.
Unfortunately, one of these three languages is required to find a job via Start People. It is important that you can communicate with our colleagues and your manager at work.
Yes, you can choose between a weekly or a 4-weekly payment of your salary.
If you want to work in The Netherlands, you should be able to arrage your own transportation. Also, traveling together with other people is not preferred due to the flexibility you need for several jobs. 
Unfortunately, Start People does not offer housing. If you wish to work for Start People, you need to arrange housing in the Netherlands or in the Dutch border area.

If you have the intention to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register in the personal records database of the city you live in. To do this, go to the town hall of the city where you are going to live. You will then receive a citizen service number (BSN). With this number, your employer can register you, for example, at the Tax Authorities/ Doctors, hospitals and pharmacies can also ask you for your BSN. For more information, visit the website of the City where you live or visit www.burgerservicenummer.nl.

If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for less than four months, registration in to the personal record database is not obligated. If you still want a citizen service number, you must register in the personal record database of the city you live in. 

We can help you make an appointment to get your BSN number, but you must go to the appointment yourself. 
You need a valid ID, BSN number on an original document from either the Tax Authorities or City (Hall) you are registered in, and a European bank account number (IBAN) in your name.
In The Netherlands, it is not allowed to charge money for job placement services. Therefore, our services are free.
