As inventory employee, you go to different stores in various provinces to count their stock with a handscanner. You have a very important role in the inventory process. You need to count the products accurately and correctly. But that is no problem for you! Because after a one-time training in Nieuwegein you are fully prepared for your work as inventory employee.

What does your workday look like? You ensemble together with your colleagues between 12:00 and 14:00 PM at the Central Station in Groningen. Here your transport is waiting for you! If you have a drivers license you can also be the assigned driver for the shift. Together with your colleagues you drive to the stores. These stores vary in location. Every day as an inventory employee is different. Some days you work for example in a drugstore and the other day you work in a supermarket. It is very important that you don’t mind the variety of this job.

When you arrive at the store, you start counting the stock with your hand scanner. After you finished your work you drive back to Groningen together with your colleagues. The end time of your shifts vary. You may not be home until later in the evening, but it could also be that you are finished earlier on the day. The working days have an average of 5 hours.
Are you available on a couple days a week? No problem! Your planning is based on your availability. However, for the planning, it is important to have a clear view of your availability three weeks in advance.

Job requirements

  • You live in Groningen;
  • It is no problem for you to go to the training on a Friday in Nieuwegein;
  • You are available for at least 2/3 days a week;
  • You don’t mind travelling for work;
  • You are a reliable person who works very accurately:
  • You preferably have a drivers license B, but feel free to apply if otherwise;
  • You like to do routinework;

The company you are going to work for is a big player on the worldwide market of services for retailers with large stocks. This company has his locations in 40 countries and has more than 400 offices. That is also the reason that you are going to work in different stores. It could be a supermarket or for example a drug store.

Yes, we are a member of ABU: the branch organization of the temporary employment sector. This organization guarantees that its members act according to the Dutch law.

Yes, you can choose between a weekly or a 4-weekly payment of your salary.
If you want to work in The Netherlands, you should be able to arrage your own transportation. Also, traveling together with other people is not preferred due to the flexibility you need for several jobs. 
Unfortunately, Start People does not offer housing. If you wish to work for Start People, you need to arrange housing in the Netherlands or in the Dutch border area.

If you have the intention to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register in the personal records database of the city you live in. To do this, go to the town hall of the city where you are going to live. You will then receive a citizen service number (BSN). With this number, your employer can register you, for example, at the Tax Authorities/ Doctors, hospitals and pharmacies can also ask you for your BSN. For more information, visit the website of the City where you live or visit www.burgerservicenummer.nl.

If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for less than four months, registration in to the personal record database is not obligated. If you still want a citizen service number, you must register in the personal record database of the city you live in. 

We can help you make an appointment to get your BSN number, but you must go to the appointment yourself. 
You need a valid ID, BSN number on an original document from either the Tax Authorities or City (Hall) you are registered in, and a European bank account number (IBAN) in your name.
