About the job

We are looking for a motivated worker with an eye for detail and caring way of working as a production employee for "Verzinkerij van Aert" . Our client is specialised in hot dip galvanizing of steel and its preparation for further exploitation for their clients. They provide steel products with a corrosion-resistant zinc layer. They also offer other services to their clients, like: assembly, storage, logistics, own transport and preparation of the products for powder coating or wet painting.
You will be working at one of those departments. This is physically heavy work, especially if you work with steel that will be hot dipped and galvanized. If you are handy with technical/production work or have a technical degree or certificated knowledge it gives you an advantage in the recruitment process. We also offer work as a forklift driver in our storage. Production employee at Verzinkerij van Aert is going to work fulltime 40 hours a week.

What we expect from you?:

  • You are avalaible for 2 shifts;
  • You are willing to perform intensive physical work;
  • You speak the Dutch/English/German language;
  • You have your own accomodation in the area close to Weert / Nederweert and own transport to work;
  • You are ready to work 40 hours per week.
  • You are able to provide reference contact/reference on paper/in email, so that we can check your refrences from a previous employer

Verzinkerij van Aert B.V. has a long history. It starts when A.F. van Aert, the grandfather of co-owner Rogier van Aert, opens a zinc smelter in 1969 in a building on Nieuwstraat in Nederweert. More than half a century later, it employs more than 120 people! It is even one of the largest independent payroll companies in the Netherlands.
Van Aert is not only a household name in the metal world; the galvanizing plant is a popular employer in Central Limburg and the Nederweert region. For many of our employees van Aert is the first employer and some of them have seen the hot dip galvanizing plant grow into the company of today. The current owners Rogier van Aert and Marjon Klop - van Hest, who took over from their fathers - Guido van Aert and Fred van Hest - in 2017 have brought a breath of fresh air. Just as their fathers did before, they are also focused on the future. For example, Van Aert has been given a modern house style and logo, and the galvanizing plant has been expanded with a new company building and an ultra-modern oven.

If you work via Start People it is possible to, I some cases,  use one of our collective health insurance policies. However, if you want to stay in The Netherlands for a longer period of time, we advise you to arrange health insurance yourself.  
Some companies we work with only offer day shifts, but the most companies offer several shifts (morning-, day and night shifts). It is often not possible to work structurally in one specific shift.
Unfortunately, one of these three languages is required to find a job via Start People. It is important that you can communicate with our colleagues and your manager at work.
Yes, you can choose between a weekly or a 4-weekly payment of your salary.
If you want to work in The Netherlands, you should be able to arrage your own transportation. Also, traveling together with other people is not preferred due to the flexibility you need for several jobs. 
Unfortunately, Start People does not offer housing. If you wish to work for Start People, you need to arrange housing in the Netherlands or in the Dutch border area.

If you have the intention to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register in the personal records database of the city you live in. To do this, go to the town hall of the city where you are going to live. You will then receive a citizen service number (BSN). With this number, your employer can register you, for example, at the Tax Authorities/ Doctors, hospitals and pharmacies can also ask you for your BSN. If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for less than four months, registration in to the personal record database is not obligated. If you still want a citizen service number, you must register in the personal record database of the city you live in. 

We can help you make an appointment to get your BSN number, but you must go to the appointment yourself. 
You need a valid ID, BSN number on an original document from either the Tax Authorities or City (Hall) you are registered in, and a European bank account number (IBAN) in your name.
