As a production employee at Verzinkerij van Aert you need to be available to work fulltime 40 hours a week. Right after your start you will work at one the departments of the company. Your work will contain a lot of working with steel. It means that you need to and are going to perform physically heavy activities. It is a plus for you if you are in a good physical shape.
We are looking for an interested and motivated production employee (productiemedewerker) for “Verzinkerij van Aert”. Words as "Verzinkerij" or "Verzinken" means galvanizing in Dutch language. Verzinkerij van Aert is a production facility and they are professionals in galvanizing metals. This is the core business of what the company does. Providing steel products with a corrosion-resistant zinc layer is very important and not that easy work.
Hot dip galvanizing is the main production process within Verzinkerij van Aert, but it's not the only service they are offering. Other services they have to offer, are logistics, storage services, own transport, covering the metal products with powder coating or wet paint and even assembly of the parts into a final product.

Job requirements

What we expect from you:

  • You are available and ready to work 40 hours per week;
  • You are willing to work in 2 shifts (from 05:00 h until 14:00 h and from 14:00 h until 23:00 h);
  • Knowledge of the Dutch OR German OR English language is essential;
  • You are ready and willing to perform heavy physical work;
  • You live in close area to Weert/Nederweert (Max. 45 km);
  • You have one personal reference from previous employers;
  • You have your own transport to get to work;

If you already have experience with technical/production work or you own a technical diploma/certificated knowledge it will give you an advantage during the recruitment process.

Verzinkerij van Aert B.V. has a long history. It starts when A.F. van Aert, the grandfather of co-owner Rogier van Aert, opened a zinc smelter in 1969 in a building on Nieuwstraat in Nederweert. More than half a century later, it employs more than 120 people! It is even one of the largest independent payroll companies in the Netherlands.
Van Aert isn't only a household name in the metal world; the galvanizing plant is a popular employer in Central Limburg and the Nederweert region. Van Aert is looking forward to the future and is investing in the company. For example, Van Aert has been given a modern house style and logo, and the galvanizing plant has been expanded with a new company building and an ultra-modern oven.

  • We provide good employment condition such as work clothes and safety shoes to you;
  • Long-term work relation and permanent contract with Van Aert is possible;
  • A Salary of €14.26 per hour gross, this includes 16% of shift allowance and ADV;
  • 8.33% vacation allowance yearly and 25 vacation days a year;
  • Intern and extern trainings and cursus such as: forklift/heftruck certificates, extra training like galvanizing process if you perform well and even more;
  • Possibility to work overtime on Saturdays (mostly in the summer);

Yes, we are a member of ABU: the branch organization of the temporary employment sector. This organization guarantees that its members act according to the Dutch law. 
You are more than welcome at our office in Venlo, where our recruiters can talk to you in either Dutch, English, German and/or Polish.
If you work via Start People it is possible to, I some cases,  use one of our collective health insurance policies. However, if you want to stay in The Netherlands for a longer period of time, we advise you to arrange health insurance yourself.  
Some companies we work with only offer day shifts, but the most companies offer several shifts (morning-, day and night shifts). It is often not possible to work structurally in one specific shift.

Yes, you can choose between a weekly or a 4-weekly payment of your salary.
If you want to work in The Netherlands, you should be able to arrage your own transportation. Also, traveling together with other people is not preferred due to the flexibility you need for several jobs. 
Unfortunately, Start People does not offer housing. If you wish to work for Start People, you need to arrange housing in the Netherlands or in the Dutch border area.

If you have the intention to stay in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register in the personal records database of the city you live in. To do this, go to the town hall of the city where you are going to live. You will then receive a citizen service number (BSN). With this number, your employer can register you, for example, at the Tax Authorities/ Doctors, hospitals and pharmacies can also ask you for your BSN. If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for less than four months, registration in to the personal record database is not obligated. If you still want a citizen service number, you must register in the personal record database of the city you live in. 

We can help you make an appointment to get your BSN number, but you must go to the appointment yourself. 
You need a valid ID, BSN number on an original document from either the Tax Authorities or City (Hall) you are registered in, and a European bank account number (IBAN) in your name.
